Charles S. Tigerman
Charles S. Tigerman, Of Counsel to Greenberg & Bass, is a Certified Specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law. Mr. Tigerman designs and implements estate plans at various levels of wealth and complexity. He has extensive experience in the area of complex business transactions for closely held businesses and family enterprises, and handles matters in the areas of computer, software and Internet law. Mr. Tigerman is also a partner in the law firm of Mindlin and Tigerman.
Managed the complex administration of a Family Trust following the death of a spouse, which included obtaining control over assets that had not been transferred to the Trust; allocating assets to multiple subtrusts; collecting a policy from a challenging insurance company; and filing a Form 706 to provide for certain claims and diminutions of tax upon the death of the surviving spouse.
Created Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust to hold a $2.5 million policy, designed to pay off free of death tax upon the death of the insured.
Established a Family Limited Liability Company and transferred significant commercial real estate assets to the FLLC. Strategy designed to provide vehicle for gifting interests in the FLLC to family members, and reduce overall death and gift taxes.
Formed a Limited Liability Company to hold the substantial commercial property owned by “tenants in common” – the individual members of a large, extended family. Established centralized management for the LLC, prepared buy/sell agreement to protect the rights of the members and of the LLC.
